VOCAL COACHING: Through my vocal coaching sessions I will encourage you to connect to your voice, body, breath, and heart in order to more fully trust your voice and develop a deeper sense of self-confidence. For the advanced vocalist who is already in the studio or preparing for a performance, I can provide vital professional guidance on performance techniques, pitch, inflection, or that final feedback that will take your performance to the next level. Vocalists of all levels will work on breath control, loosening your vocal chords, expanding vocal range and developing your own singing styles, all while learning to sing the songs you’ve been wanting to share. RHYTHM GUITAR: The acoustic guitar is a powerful instrument, offering you rhythmic, melodic and percussive opportunities to express your unique musicianship. For advanced players we can work on understanding guitar theory, reading music and become familiar with jazz theory and chords. Auditioning for a band or needing to learn a particularly challenging piece of music for a performance? I’ll help you prepare. We’ll go through the songs one by one and work them out so you’re ready to deliver when the big day arrives. For the intermediate player we will explore bar chords, 'color' chords, the fundamental strumming patterns found in many 'popular' songs and your own invented rhythmic styles. And for the absolute beginner just learning to get comfortable with your instrument, we will work on tuning and basic instrument care, power chords, open chords and scales to practice for ear and fine motor skill training, then begin applying them to songs you know and love, even your originals, and some new songs too.
