As a child, the traditional approaches to learning music just got in her way; She never enjoyed practicing. Rather than "reading music" or learning abstract musical concepts, she wanted to "make music", and then explore and apply the theory. She could hear and remember the way music sounded, then use her ear to recreate it note for note. And she was already performing in Off Broadway musical theater productions, which required many hours of highly structured group rehearsals and much individual preparation. Read more
here.

Other than her theater coaches, Julia didn't have many music teachers who encouraged her unique learning style and her need for self-expression. But when she started combining her poetry with her own music, and keeping her body engaged in the process, her life was forever changed. She felt a deeper understanding of her own voice and the possibilities that musical instruments offered her. She allowed herself the freedom to pursue her love of music by embracing her own innate abilities and favorite ways to learn. She overcame her "practicing problem", and so can you.

As your music coach, Julia will help you identify your own learning style, review your individual goals, build a sequential, skill-based program and customize each session based upon what you need and want from the music mentoring experience. She allows you to explore your own innate creativity, to have fun with your instrument and see where it takes you while learning valuable music theory along the way. So what are you waiting for? Start your sessions today!

Fellow musicians of any age and any ability, let Julia help you reach your highest potential by pumping enthusiasm into your veins and encouraging you to explore your inner artist.
